Herbal medicine can be used in one of three ways:

1. As the primary treatment for diseases and general health problems
2. To preventing disease, and/or
3. Complementary to other natural therapies or orthodox medicine

Up until about 200 years ago, herbal extracts, teas, baths, etc., were the primary forms of treatment available to doctors. In fact Pedanius Dioscorides an ancient Greek physician, pharmacologist and botanist from Anazarbus, <st1></st1> wrote ‘the bible’ on herbs and early medicinal substances extracted from plants in the first century AD. To this day, pharmaceutical companies still use herbal medicines in their drugs (they just don’t advertise that fact). He described over 600 medicinal plants, their use and actions with respect to treating diseases.

A skilled herbalist is able to use medicinal plants to treat any disease known to man. Granted, some diseases such as cancer for example, are not treated easily, but are treatable with herbs. The limit is not the limitations of herbs, but the skill of the physician. And, let’s face it – that’s the same for any system of medicine.

In short, herbal medicine has been used since the dawn of man and is still as effective today as it ever was in treating virtually any disease safely and effectively.

There are numerous ways to improve your health with all sorts of herbs, in my personal opinion herbs are much better for long term effects then chemical drugs, but they can not have that fast short effects like pills.

Chlorella (http://www.greenpathsupplements.com/chlorella) increases immune system strength, cleanses the body, and provides protein, vitamins, and minerals.

Beta glucan (http://www.greenpathsupplements.com/beta-glucan) also increases immunity and lowers cholesterol.

Glucosamine sulfate (http://www.greenpathsupplements.com/joint-pain-relief) is a natural anti-inflammatory that relieves joint pain and assures joint health.

These are just a few of your options. Herbal medicines are all natural, and when combined with doctor's recommendations, they can be very helpful!

Now-a-days people do not get time to revive their body parts and mind, and then natural health care practice comes into play. Herbal therapy aims to make out the root cause, get rid of problems from the root and provides slow but sure relief.

Hello everyone, I'm a new member. :)
Here are several problems that herbal medicine can solve:
Echinacea may be used to treat colds and other respiratory (breathing) infections.
Garlic may reduce blood cholesterol levels and could potentially lower your risk of heart disease.
Saw palmetto is useful if you have an enlarged but benign prostate gland.
An extract of hawthorn berries may be able to treat mild heart failure.
Ginger may relieve nausea and vomiting.
Ginkgo biloba is thought to improve mental performance if you have Alzheimer's disease.
Horse chestnut seed extract has been studied as a treatment for chronic venous insufficiency.

I am also a new member, but a firm believer in herbal supplements! My parents raised me using natural remedies for all my minor ailments. I never went to the doctor and never even had a prescription antibiotic until I was in my 20's at which time I broke out in a rash all over my body. That was my first clue as to how harmful prescription medications can be for the body. I have found Echinacea and Silver are great for fighting off colds. I also use tea tree oil daily to prevent acne and it is amazing! I have links to these products on my site if you are interested www.yourherbalhealth.net (http://www.yourherbalhealth.net)

Thanks!
